The game "La Grange"

The Grange game is a fun tool whose objective is for players to co-construct a barn, i.e., a synthetic representation of an agricultural territory. Players must then consider how it will evolve over time based on identified constraints and shared aspirations and wishes. This can take the form of a role-playing game or a negotiation game. It is a team-based, collaborative, and/or cooperative game, so it is played with several players with a shared goal in mind.

The Grange can be used for (non-exhaustive list):

- discussing an agricultural territory project, a sector, a Geographical Indication (PDO, etc.).

- initiating debate on sensitive societal issues surrounding agriculture: the environment, traditional know-how, animal welfare, global health, distribution of added value, etc.

- educating on agriculture as a socio-ecological system within a territory.

- make decisions on the direction of a sector.

It benefited from funding from the GIS Jeu et Société for its initial development, followed by support from Clermont-Auvergne Métropole as part of its development during the Ambition One Health project.
